This is a Japanese maple, I think. They come in so many shapes and sizes. This is not a thread leaf but it is a Japanese maple. A tendril spirals around the leaf to give it structure and to keep the serrated edges of the leaf from grabbing your sweater. Can be seen easily from across the table for a good conversation starter.
Pendant is 1 1/2 inches tall, including the bail, by about 3/4 of an inch wide.
All parts were fabricated by me using tarnish resistant Sterling silver sheet and wire. Pendant has been left a bright silver white. The tiny details will very slowly darken over time, but the polished surfaces will stay this silver white if cared for and polished as needed. Stamped Heart’s desire and sterling on the back.
